Bob & Karla Greer announced that Greg & Renee Dempsey have joined the team as Assistant Directors for the Chapter of the Year Program and Steven & Tammy Hollingsworth Assistant Directors for the Couple of the Year Program. They are all from our very own Chapter B in Huntsville. Congratulations to them all. We know they will do a good job.
I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving and does not put on too many pounds. It is real easy to do this time of the year.
Now that the weather has really cooled down (just darned cold in some places) we should have more time to contact some of the members on your ARL that you have not seen or talked to in a while. You should already be sending them your newsletter or a link to it on your website. Still a personal contact is more personal and will give better results.
So for this year we have managed to make 100% contacts with all the new and potential members. We did not get all of them into chapters but I think we got the most of them. Pat yourself on the back for job well done. I will give everyone a total of what we did on toward the end of the year.
Veronica and I managed to visit each chapter for their monthly meeting at least once this year some of them twice. We will start again in January and try to visit each chapter twice.
Remember the Snowball Officers conference will be January 11th in Prattville AL. Start making your plans now. This is for all Chapter Staff. Will put out more info later.
We want to wish everyone Happy Holidays.
And thanks for all that you do.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! I hope y'all have had an enjoyable and safe fall riding "season" -- although we really don't have such a thing here in Alabama, because there are at least a few days out of any month of the year when we can get a little riding in! (A moment of silence for our northern brethren, who have to fret about such things as "winterizing" their bikes.)
We have had a couple of big events this month. The first was the Veteran's Day Parade in downtown Birmingham. Chapters from around Alabama gathered to honor our past and present service members, with the biggest such parade in the country. We all gathered ahead of time to park and bling up our bikes, then visited with each other while we waited for the parade to start. (We had to "hurry up and wait" in the best military fashion, but any parade is a good parade when you don't have to follow the horses!) District Director Robert Brown led our bikes past the reviewing stand, and the announcer had some very complimentary and positive remarks about GWRRA. The weather could not have been better, and it's always fun watching the little kids in the appreciative crowds. It makes walking your bike through town worthwhile. And in case you were wondering how many clowns you can get on a Goldwing, the above picture should answer that!
We also had the honor of attending Chapter AL-Y's Region Wanderer Plaque Luncheon, where they offered up the Region Plaque for whichever chapter had the miles and members to claim it. They put on a bang-up affair at the historic Irondale Café, with door prizes, 50-25-25 drawings, and omigosh good eats. And Robert made good on his dress-up promise...Everyone had a good time, and GA-A Chapter Director Larry Clemmer absconded to Georgia with with the plaque.
Our own Chapter T did a Parking Lot Practice recently, video courtesy of Mike Freeman, who is a very experienced rider as well as an accomplished videographer. If he keeps this up, we're going to make him get signed model releases from us before he posts his videos! You can see his work at:
